The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine"

The Law states that the Government consists of the Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister, three Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of Ukraine. The document also envisages that the personnel of the newly formed Cabinet of Ministers shall be appointed by the President as advised by the Prime Minister. The offices of the Cabinet of Ministers belong to the political offices not subject to the laws on labour and state service.

 

The document also states that the Prime Minister is appointed to the office by the President of Ukraine by the consent of the majority of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada. On adoption of the resolution on resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers or termination of the authorities of the Prime Minister, the President sends an appeal on consent to the appointment to the office of the Prime Minister.

 

Pursuant to the Law, resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers is accepted by the President. Resignation of the Cabinet of Minister can be the result of: the adoption of the Verkhovna Rada resolution on the vote of nonconfidence to the Cabinet of Ministers; adoption of the resolution on resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers by the President; resignation or death of the Prime Minister.

 

The document also contains the provision establishing responsibility of the Cabinet of Ministers to the President of Ukraine.

 

It also envisages weekly Government Question Hours.  

 

The Law regulates the procedure of drafting and implementing the State Budget of Ukraine, and regulates drafting and realization of the national programs.
