Mykola Tomenko: I would rather the Party of Regions hold 'Creative', not Falsified, Elections in Cherkasy Region
Visiting Lysianka town (Cherkasy region),Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, was asked about the advertising of the Party of Regions on the big boards with the use of the United Nations Organization symbols. He replied that it was not the first ‘creative invention´ of the Party of Regions in Cherkasy region.
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reminded that the team of Cherkasy region governor suggested organizing the sports competitions for the Governor´s Cup. Ievhen Vlizlo running for the mayor of Cherkasy suggested that pupils played football with a rugby ball. The Deputy Chairman also claimed, "As the election campaign is drawing to its close, the content of election advertisements becomes more complicated." He stated that the whole region is full of big boards where the governor, accompanied by the beautiful women, calls for the fair elections. "However, the latest know-how is the advertising on the background of the UN logo with the appeal to vote for the Party of Regions under the slogan "The Building Party", M. Tomenko admitted.
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that he had prepared several appeals. Thus, he intends to inform the UN representatives in Ukraine about the above-mentioned fact. "Still, comparing all these creative inventions, I am convinced that the biggest threat is the denial of registration of numerous candidates in majority districts and dismissal of the heads of the territorial commissions," Mykola Tomenko stressed.
