Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine highly appreciates the results of the official visit to Austrian Republic.

 

Asked about the results of the meetings with the members of the Austrian-Ukrainian group on inter-parliamentary liaison and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Council of Austria, V.Lytvyn expressed his content with the results of the negotiations. "I am convinced that it is necessary to continue such meetings and dialogues for better understanding of each other", he stated. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also expressed his hopes that "Ukrainian colleagues have better understanding of processes in our state and our aims."

 

V. Lytvyn declared that the Ukrainian delegation "exchanged their experience with the Austrian parliamentarians." According to him, it is utterly important that during the negotiations and international meetings, the politicians "do not demonstrate squaring of political accounts, and speak due to the common political responsibility for their work, and common responsibility for their people and state." "We should learn it", he emphasised.

 

The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament declared that a different behavior of Ukrainian politicians led to the situation when "people lose interest and respect for us."

 

"We should speak one language, trying to settle the issues that are sensitive for our people and precondition the flow of investments to Ukraine", he explained. "The dialogue of the visit was based exactly on such principles."

 

He also underscored the value of Austrian experience in the preservation of the historical monuments, and stated that the countries with high economic performance took care, preserving their historical heritage, "historical memory."

 

S. Kliuev, V. Kurylo, T. Zasukha and R. Kniazevych, People´s Deputies of Ukraine, visited the Austrian Republic representing the Ukrainian delegation.
