On Saturday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, attended the Opening of the Venerable Parasceva of Serbia Church in Serbo-Slobidka Village of Yemilchyne District of Zhytomyr Region

All Ukraine, Primate of the
Ukrainian Orthodox Church, consecrated the church.
"It is a memorable event," V.Lytvyn stated after the ceremony. "I believe that only faith can save us and protect in this complicated life," the Head of the Parliament stated. "The more faith we have, the less negative events happen in our life. The more faith there will be, the more attention will the authorities pay to the general public."
V.Lytvyn expressed sincere gratitude to the donators
for the church construction. "Church is not merely a religious building. It is
a community center, where people can support each other," he added.
The Venerable Parasceva of Serbia
Church has been constructed on donations for 8 years. V.Lytvyn has also donated for
the construction of the church.
The Most Blessed Volodymyr, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, conferred the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called to V.Lytvyn for his service to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
