The opposition intends to invite Vasyl Nadraha, Minister of Social Policy and Labour, to the Government Question Hour on Friday. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, announced this during the briefing.

He stated that "the situation with aid grants calculation should be clarified." V.Lytvyn reminded that the Government had sent news letters to nearly 9 million people, so that they filled in an application form. However, only 350 thousand people appealed for aid grants. "This issue should be discussed in public. The people lacking financial support should be encouraged to appeal for aid grants," he stated.

The Head of the Parliament hopes that "inspiration for blocking the work of The Verkhovna Rada has faded, as it restricts the possibilities of the opposition factions to raise the important questions." Due to the live television and radio broadcast of The Verkhovna Rada meetings, they can impart their standpoint on different issues to the public. "This week, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will work on a normal basis," V.Lytvyn declared.

According to V.Lytvyn, the Parliament should receive a governmental draft of the Tax Code on Tuesday to undergo the complete scrutiny procedure. He stressed that "the document is serious and requires a comprehensive presentation." Then, the amendments to the draft will be worked upon. V.Lytvyn predicts that the work upon the Tax Code will continue September through October.
