The Committee on the National Security and Defence recommends that The Verkhovna Rada forwards the Draft Resolution on Holding of the Parliamentary Hearings "On the Navy of Ukraine: State, Problems and Prospects of Development" for further Adjustment

V. Kyrylenko, People´s Deputy of Ukraine, author of the bill (Reg. No7085), expressed his concern about the present state of the Navy Forces caused by "an unacceptably low level of the financial and logistical supply."

 

The Committee members agreed to the necessity of discussing the state of the Navy Forces of Ukraine, and the lack of funding, which reduces the defensive capacity of the state.

 

In the result of the discussion, the Committee members suggest that author of the bill, in accordance with the Standing Orders of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, raises the subject at the Conciliative Council in October (on the eve of the scrutiny of the State Budget of Ukraine 2011) and at the Government Question Hour.

 

Furthermore, the Committee resolved to address the Minister of Defense with a request to inform the Committee on the state, problems and perspectives of the development of the Navy Forces of Ukraine.
