Members of the Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism discussed the Issues of Government Assistance to the Physical Culture and Sports Establishments due to Enactment of a New Version of the Law "On Physical Culture and Sports"

The meeting was organized on the initiative of Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

 

Opening the meeting, M. Tomenko singled out certain issues concerning legislative support of the further development of physical culture and sports in Ukraine: the development of the system of privileged taxation of physical culture and sports establishments, Olympic bases and paralympic training, improvement of the tools for compensations from the local budgets.

 

Pavlo Kostenko, Chairman of the specialized Committee, declared that the public had appreciated the recent development of sports. He expressed his hopes for the positive result of the governmental coalition work aimed at the effective introduction of privileged taxation for the development of physical culture in Ukraine. He is convinced that a new Tax Code shall prove "that the Government is ready to support the Ukrainian sports."

 

P. Kostenko singled out the priorities of the state policy in the sphere of physical culture and sports:

 

 - support of the development of physical culture in the places of residence;

 - development of the sports infrastructure;

 - selection of qualified personnel.

 

R. Safiullin, Minister of Family Matters, Youth and Sports, V. Korzh, People´s Deputy, S.Bubka, Head of Dynamo LLC, the President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, members of the specialized parliamentary committee, representatives of ministries and other executive power bodies and public organizations attended the event.
