Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that authorities of the Parliament of the current convocation can not be prolonged if the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine introduced in 2004 are cancelled.
He made this statement during his working visit to Obukhiv town in Kyiv region. The Head of the Parliament admitted that The Verkhovna Rada itself may pass the resolution to prolong its authorities. "However, the impact of this resolution should be considered, as Ukraine is being monitored, and extra problems shall be avoided."
V.Lytvyn deems necessary "to launch a discussion about the responsibility of the parliament members and the principles of the public authority formation."
