During the 7th Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation, the Committee on Public Health intends to draft, scrutinize and bring forward nearly 30 Bills

According to the ratified working plan of the Committee, the following bills adopted as a basis at the previous session shall be adjusted to the second reading: on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Tuberculosis Prevention" (a new version) (Reg. No.6037), on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Baby Food" (re enhancement of requirements for production and circulation of baby food) (Reg. No.4584). The following bills shall be drafted for the first reading: "On Prevention of AIDS, and Social Security" (Reg. No. No. 6617, 6617-1), on prevention of alcohol, drugs and substance abuse (Reg. No. 2194), on protection of public health from the harmful influence of tobacco goods consumption (Reg. No. No. 6018, 6457, 6595). The Committee shall also scrutinize the bills to enhance the Law of Ukraine "On Transplantation of Organs and other Human Anatomic Material" (Reg. No. No. 5197, 6314).

 

The Committee shall continue its work upon the bill on public health financial support and compulsory medical insurance in Ukraine (Reg. No. 4744).  

 

The Committee members shall work upon the legislative regulation of circulation and advertisement of medicine and medical goods; public sanitary and epidemic well-being, etc.

 

The Committee shall hold an off-site meeting to exchange the experience in reforms and optimization of the public health sector in Ivano-Frankivsk region (October 2010).

 

At the extended meetings, the Committee shall assess implementation of the Laws and resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Committee resolutions.

 

The Committee intends to hold the following hearings:

 

"Financial Support of Medical Establishments in Villages and Districts of Ukraine" (November 2010);

 

"On Revision of the Immunizations Schedule, Vaccinal Prevention and Further Enhancement of Normative and Legal Base in Vaccinal Prevention and Protection from Contagious Diseases" (October 2010).
