Maksym Lutskyi, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education, commented on the topicality and importance of the meeting with the representatives of the Indonesian Parliament. He sent his greetings to them on the occasion of the national holiday the Declaration of Independence Day. He stressed that this meeting was a substantial contribution to the development of international cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Indonesia.
H.E. Mr. Lukman Hakim Saifuddin stated that the meeting was to consolidate relations between the countries and enhance inter-parliamentary liaison between Ukraine and the Republic of Indonesia. He stressed that Indonesia was looking forward to the appointment of a new ambassador of Ukraine.
H.E. Mrs. Nining Suningsih Rochadiat reminded that the Third Joint Sitting of the Ukraine-Indonesia Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation had been scheduled for the beginning of September.
M. Lutskyi informed the Indonesian counterparts on the activity of the Ukrainian Parliament and the Committee on Science and Education. Omelian Sukholytkyi, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, briefed on the international scientific and technological, and educational cooperation. He presented the draft of the inter-governmental agreement on educational cooperation between Ukraine and Indonesia to the Indonesian delegation.
The attendants of the meeting discussed establishment of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deputy group on the inter-parliamentary liaison with the Republic of Indonesia.
H.E. Mr. Lukman Hakim Saifuddin expressed his gratitude for the fruitful discussion. He declared that all the issues and proposals mentioned at the meeting would be presented to the leaders of the People´s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia.
The meeting was organized at the request of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Ukraine.
