Ukraine Is Grateful to the Czech Republic for Supporting EU Integration and Leading the Ammunition Coalition: Olena Kondratiuk Meets With Vice Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament

Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk met with the Vice Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Barbora Urbanová during her inaugural visit to Kyiv.
"Ms. Barbora arrived to see firsthand and experience how Ukraine’s capital lives and works under constant russian bombardment, and how our people endure. Most importantly, her aim is to form a clear perspective directly on the ground regarding how the Czech Republic can further assist Ukraine. I am grateful to Ms. Barbora for this visit and for her courage to stand with us during these extraordinarily difficult times," noted Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
The Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament also expressed her gratitude to the Czech Republic for all the assistance provided since 2022 and for its leadership in the Ammunition Coalition.
"We count on the continuation of this initiative, which in 2026 secured €2.2 billion in donor funding for the delivery of large-caliber artillery shells to Ukraine," emphasized Olena Kondratiuk.
In addition, the parties discussed the need to open all negotiation clusters for Ukraine's accession to the European Union. "The first and sixth clusters have already been officially opened. Ukraine is prepared to initiate negotiations on Clusters 2–5. We strongly rely on the Czech Republic's support in advancing the relevant decisions at the European Union level, including through parliamentary diplomacy," stressed Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
For her part, Deputy Chair of the Czech Chamber of Deputies Barbora Urbanová emphasized that Czech society supports Ukraine with gratitude for safeguarding the security of all of Europe. She noted that the Czech Republic also consistently supports Ukraine’s European integration.
Additionally, the parties addressed the repatriation of Ukrainian children stolen by russia and the dire situation facing 1.6 million Ukrainian children in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine—specifically their state-sponsored militarization and indoctrination by the russian federation.
As Olena Kondratiuk noted, such actions by the russian federation "bear all the hallmarks of war crimes and genocide."
"We are grateful to the Czech Republic for its participation in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and for the corresponding parliamentary resolutions. It is crucial to expand and align sanctions lists against the direct organizers and perpetrators of these crimes. We hope that the Czech Republic will also actively contribute to intensifying sanctions pressure on the russian federation specifically on this issue," stressed Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
