Agricultural Development, Support for Producers, and Farm Operations: Oleksandr Korniyenko Visits the Poltava Region

During a working visit to the Poltava Region, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko, together with People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksii Ustenko, took part in a roundtable discussion with the region’s agricultural producers.
Representatives of agricultural enterprises outlined the challenges they face in their daily operations. The format of the meeting made it possible to hear perspectives from enterprises of all scales—from large agribusinesses to small farms—and to assess in detail the impact of current challenges on their activities.
Among the main topics discussed were export and logistics, access to lending and the capabilities of the “5-7-9%” program, terms for reserving employees (particularly in small farming enterprises), fuel and freight costs, railway operations, and the use of local roads for product transportation.
Special attention was paid to the state of dairy farming, the development of domestic processing, and the need to support agricultural producers under difficult conditions.
“We will further address the issues raised with our colleagues to support Ukrainian agricultural producers under current challenging conditions and ensure their ongoing work—which is crucial not only for our nation, but also for global food security,” stated Oleksandr Korniyenko.
According to the First Deputy Chairman, the position of direct producers must be taken into account when developing future decisions at the level of Parliament, the Government, and the line ministry.
“The Poltava Region is one of Ukraine’s leading agricultural regions. Therefore, it is vital to consider the producers' stance and work alongside the line ministry, the Government, and Parliament to define practical steps for the stable development of the sector,” emphasized Oleksandr Korniyenko.
During his working visit, the First Deputy Chairman also inspected the operations of a local agricultural enterprise.
“The Poltava Region remains one of Ukraine’s key agricultural hubs. Consequently, supporting producers, developing processing capabilities, and creating conditions for the resilient operation of enterprises are essential state priorities, especially amid full-scale war,” concluded Oleksandr Korniyenko.
