On May 8, 2025, the Chair of the Committee, Oleksandr Merezhko, held a meeting with Italian Senator Ivan Scalfarotto and representatives of the local government of Milan. The Italian delegation included Elena Buscemi, President of the Milan City Council, and Gianmaria Radice, member of the Milan City Council.

During the meeting, the parties discussed pressing issues of global politics, the security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, initiatives for a peaceful resolution in Ukraine, partner support, and the need to strengthen comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in repelling the armed aggression of the russian federation, as well as the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula.

Particular attention was devoted to Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the development of bilateral cooperation, especially in the parliamentary dimension.

Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Merezhko expressed his gratitude to his Italian counterpart for the support and participation in the events held in Kyiv dedicated to Europe Day, emphasizing that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is a vital factor for regional security.
