The President of Ukraine has signed the Law of Ukraine «On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine Regarding the Prevention of Instances of Evading Criminal Liability by Individuals Who Have Committed Criminal Offenses Against the Foundations of Ukraine's National Security» dated February 26, 2025, No. 4268-IX.

The provisions of this Law amend the title of Section I of the Special Part of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, replacing «Crimes Against the Foundations of Ukraine's National Security» with «Criminal Offenses Against the Foundations of Ukraine's National Security.» Additionally, in Part 5 of Article 49 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 2 of Article 297-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the word «crimes» is replaced with the words «criminal offenses.»

Thus, the provisions of the Law address technical shortcomings aimed at preventing instances of evading criminal liability by individuals who have committed criminal offenses against the foundations of Ukraine's national security.
