The Chairperson of the Committee on Budget Roksolana Pidlasa met with Ambassador of Germany Martin Jaeger

‘Last week I had the honour to met with the Ambassador of Germany Martin Jaeger at the Budget Committee.

The main topic of conversation, of course, was the implementation of the State Budget 2024 and changes to the budget to cover the ‘hole’ of UAH 400-500 billion this year. Here we are waiting for the Government's initiative.

At the same time, I thanked the Ambassador for the active position of the German Government in approving the Ukraine Facility – primarily thanks to this resource, our non-military expenditures are covered until the end of 2024.

The question of financing the State Budget 2025 and the role of $50 billion from russian assets in this process remains open. I drew attention to the fact that a) Ukraine should have a clear permission to buy weapons with this money, b) part of this money should be direct budgetary assistance (in case the US stops budgetary assistance in the next budget).
