“This was discussed at a meeting with colleagues from the “friendship group” of the parliaments of Ukraine and Estonia. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Estonia-Ukraine Friendship Group Eerik-Niiles Kross, members of the Friendship Group, as well as the Chairman of the National Defence Commission Grigore-Kalev Stoicescu,’ said Mykhailo Radutskyi, the Chairman of the Committee on Public Health, Medical Care and Health Insurance.

At the beginning of the meeting, he thanked Estonia for its significant support of Ukraine – financial, humanitarian and military. In particular, for one of the largest shares of defence support among the world's countries in relation to GDP: about 1.4% of Estonia's GDP goes to help Ukraine. In addition, this country actively supports us at the diplomatic level. For example, Estonia supports the implementation of President Zelenskyi's Peace Formula and calls on other countries to join this initiative.

“My colleagues have assured me that Estonia is ready to strengthen its support for Ukraine. In particular, it plans to provide annual military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of GDP over the next 4 years, and is ready to contribute to the restoration of the most affected Ukrainian regions. The Riigikogu also passed a law on the use of frozen assets of the russian federation for the benefit of Ukraine and will insist on strengthening sanctions against the aggressor country”.

In the healthcare sector, he suggested that his colleagues consider joining First Lady Olena Zelenska's initiative to establish a partnership between medical institutions in Ukraine and Estonia. This would strengthen cooperation at the hospital level. He suggested that the Estonian side sign an interstate agreement on mutual recognition of GDP and GMP certificates. Eerik-Niiles Kross, the Chairman of the Estonia-Ukraine Friendship Group, said he was ready to discuss this issue in detail. We also discussed ways to attract Estonian investors to rebuild Ukraine's medical infrastructure,’ said Radutskyi.
