The videoconference meeting with the Chairman and members of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation of the Parliament of Greece

On 4 April 2024, Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Merezhko and members of the Committee held a meeting via video conference with the Chairman of the Committee Dora Bakoyannis and members of the Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament.

The meeting was attended by Ukrainian MPs, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee Hryhorii Nemyria, the Chairmen of the Committee's subcommittees Mariia Ionova and Yelyzaveta Yasko, as well as Committee member Bohdan Yaremenko.

The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of European politics and security, the current security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, in particular in the Black Sea, freedom of navigation in the Black and Mediterranean Seas, food security, energy security, return of Ukrainian children from russia, combating propaganda, fake news and populism, support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula by foreign countries, as well as providing financial, economic and military-technical assistance to Ukraine and using frozen assets of the russian federation to restore the country's economy.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the discussion of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, reforms in Ukraine and our country's membership in the European Union and NATO, as well as strengthening the Ukrainian-Greek interparliamentary dialogue.

The Ukrainian MPs expressed their gratitude to their Greek colleagues for supporting Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as our country's future membership in the EU and NATO.
