Establishment of cooperation with European colleagues has become one of the priority areas of activity of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy in 2023

As a result of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, one of the main issues is ensuring the world's food security, as our country feeds hundreds of millions of people around the world.

That is why in 2023, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy organised and held international meetings with representatives of the parliaments of the European Union countries as part of the establishment of cooperation and further dialogue.

Thus, during the year, online meetings were held with the chairmen and representatives:

- Committee on Agriculture and Environment of the National Council of the Slovak Republic;

- Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal;

- Committee on Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the House of Representatives of the General States of the Kingdom of the Netherlands;

- Commission on Agriculture and Food Industry of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova;

- Commission on Agriculture of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania;

- Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland;

- Committee on Agriculture of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.

Two meetings were also held online and in Brussels between Norbert Lins, the Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, and AGRI coordinators, and Oleksandr Haidu, the Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, and Ukrainian MPs who are members of the Committee.

The main topics for discussion with European colleagues were:

- logistics of Ukrainian agricultural products, problems and ways to solve them;

- increasing the capacity of border crossings with neighbouring countries;

- expanding the work of the Solidarity Roads initiative;

- assistance to Ukraine in demining agricultural land;

- a simplified regime for the export of Ukrainian agricultural goods;

- support for Ukrainian farmers under martial law.

- implementation of EU agricultural legislation in the areas of veterinary medicine, food safety, and farming development;

- Common Agricultural Policy of the EU.
