The First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko co-authored and initiated a new provision – “tithes for the military”

“10% of the personal income tax paid by servicemen of a particular military unit of the Defence Forces will be returned to this unit,” said Oleksandr Korniienko, the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

He noted that these funds are needed for operational procurement, repair of vehicles/drones, construction of temporary Permanent Deployment Points, Control Observation Points, etc.

“This decision will definitely allow our army, especially on the frontline, to be more mobile and efficient,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.

The First Vice-Speaker stressed that from 1 January and until 31 December of the year in which martial law is terminated/ cancelled, it is proposed to distribute the revenues from the “military” personal income tax as follows: 45% for the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection – for the procurement of special equipment; 45% for the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine – for the deployment of arms/ammunition production; 10% for the security and defence sector managers for automatic distribution among military units.

Finally, he said that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget supported this proposal.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniienko, expressed his expectation of the support of the Ukrainian MPs.
