The Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's EU Integration aired on TV Channel 5 on the results of the visit of a delegation of women parliamentarians to the United States and Canada. According to her, there were three main areas of assistance: large-scale provision of weapons to Ukraine, strengthening and imposing new sanctions, financial support to Ukraine. There is significant progress behind all three components: “We already have strong US and Canadian support in both arms and sanctions pressure. They are ready to go further and involve other countries. The atrocities that have been revealed to the world cannot leave anyone indifferent. At such a terrible price, we will see an even faster movement of our partners to provide Ukraine with the tools that can help us," Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze said.
According to the Chairman of the Committee, the only thing we can talk about with Russia is the withdrawal of all Russian and Belarusian troops from our territory: “I do not see any sense in discussing anything else with Russia today. It is a terrorist state, an invading country, an aggressor country that despises international humanitarian law, driven solely by a kind of rage that leads to war crimes against humanity in our territory. Here, in the United States, there is no understanding of what the Ukrainian delegation can agree with Russia today, except for the ceasefire regime," said Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze.
"And very importantly, it is the responsibility not only of Putin, it is the responsibility of every Russian who took up arms, came and killed our people, and who supports Putin, and who tacitly supports this activity. That is why it is about the whole of Russia, not about one, albeit absolutely insane dictator,” the Chairman of the Committee said.
"Sanctions affect the situation, but not in a way that would stop Putin now. Therefore, first of all, I would like to see as a result all the banks of the russian federation fall under a complete ban and disconnection from the international financial system. All russian banks. But not just 6 out of 333 are what we talked about with colleagues in the States and Canada. I would like to see an embargo on oil, gas and the purchase of coal from russia, because since February 24, the EU has paid over 23 billion Euros for these energy resources to Russia, financing Russia's terrorist activities in our territory. I hear that the EU is already ready to talk more about the oil embargo. And this is another thing we talked about here in the United States. And so that the United States and Canada can help meet Europe's needs with their oil and gas, and thus help Europe finally make a decision that will hit their pockets but in the first place save lives at the center of Europe - our Ukrainians", summed up the Chairperson of the Committee.
