Co-Chair of the Committee Witold Waszczykowski informed the participants that the war in Ukraine is a major issue on the European Parliament's and its committees' agenda. Members of the European Parliament have also prepared a series of appeals to the European Parliament demanding even stricter sanctions against Russia over the war with Ukraine.

Witold Waszczykowski proposed to organize more visits of Members of the European Parliament to Ukraine, as their presence might increase safety. First Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian part of the Committee, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, supported this idea. She stated that Ukraine is ready to help organize trips to Kyiv and Lviv and is thankful to those who have already visited our country.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze is confident that the Parliamentary Committee of the EU-Ukraine Association should be used to advance the Ukrainian agenda during the time of the war. She called for work on a joint document calling on the EU to impose an embargo on oil and gas imports from Russia and called for stricter sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The meeting participants agreed that the Parliamentary Committee of the EU-Ukraine Association meetings in war conditions should take place much more often. The next meeting will happen at the beginning of next week
