Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk urges not to recognize the results of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. She stated this during the Conciliation Council of the Parliamentary Factions and Groups.
"I am convinced that we should start with a clear, sharp and understandable statement demanding not to recognize the pseudo-results of the pseudo-elections held by the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. We have to give an adequate assessment of the parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation that took place this weekend," Olena Kondratiuk stressed.
According to her, even taking into account the numerous serious violations, which are pointed out by the Russian public and international observers, Ukraine has no right to recognize these elections in connection with their holding in the annexed Ukrainian Crimea and occupied Ukrainian Donbas.
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada believes that Ukraine should appeal to all countries of the world, using, among other things, the high rostrum of the UN General Assembly - with a call not to recognize the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The Deputy Chairperson stressed that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine welcomes the decision of the European Parliament, which recently adopted the tough Resolution on future relations with the Russian Federation.
