The Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the European Union recommends to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt as a Basis and in General the Draft Law on Obtaining a Loan to Ukraine for Thermal Modernization of Public Buildings

At the July 7 meeting, the Committee members considered the draft Law No. 0104 on Ratification of the Financial Agreement ('Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine' Project) between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank
Ratification of this agreement will allow Ukraine to obtain a loan of 300 million euros from the European Investment Bank. The funds will be used to finance the thermal modernization of almost a thousand public buildings in Ukraine, including schools, cultural centers, kindergartens and hospitals. The implementation of the project "Energy efficiency of public buildings in Ukraine" will prevent more than a million tons of CO2 emissions into the environment and will benefit more than 2.5 million citizens.
Following the consideration of the draft law, the Committee recommends to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt as a basis and in general the draft Law No. 0104 on the ratification of the agreement with the EIB.
The same decision was made to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt as a basis and in general the draft Law No. 0111 on Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark on the implementation of paid activities by family members of employees of diplomatic missions and consular posts.
The Committee made a decision to submit the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for consideration and for adoption as a basis and in general the draft Law on Ukraine's Accession to the Partial Agreement on the Establishment of a Group for Cooperation in Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (Pompidou Group) (No. 0114).
The Pompidou Group is an intergovernmental body that is part of the Council of Europe. This body studies the problems of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, as well as develops and implements comprehensive measures to combat drug addiction at the national, regional and local levels.
At the meeting, the Committee recognized the bills as not inconsistent with EU law:
- on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Regulation of the Circulation of Cannabis for Medical Purposes, Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity (No. 5596);
- on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of State Financial Control in Ukraine (No. 5022);
- on Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses Regarding Liability for Violation of the Legislation on Protection of Economic Competition (No. 5432).
- on Improvement Legislation on the Protection of Animals from Cruelty in Entertainment Industries (No. 5409);
- on the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Implementation of International Obligations for the Protection of Wild Animals (No. 5342);
- on Amendments to Article 52 of the Law of Ukraine "On Physical Culture and Sports" on the activities of the National Anti-Doping Laboratory (No. 5640).
