The
Committee on Education, Science and Innovation considered the draft law
“On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine On the Use of Property of
Liquidated Communal Secondary Education Institutions in Rural Areas”.
The
draft Law establishes an exception for the property of liquidated
educational institutions in rural areas, providing that such property
can be used not only for educational purposes: imposes prohibition on
alienation of such property, its mortgage, or using it to repay debts.
The draft Law also establishes that funds obtained from the lease of
such property can be used by local self-government bodies exclusively
for educational purposes.
Based
on the results of the consideration, the Committee recommends to the
Verkhovna Rada to adopt the draft Law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of
Ukraine On the Use of Property of Liquidated Communal Secondary
Education Institutions in Rural Areas” in the second reading and in
general.
