Adopted as a basis the draft Law "On Critical Infrastructure"

The purpose of the draft law No. 5219 is to create conditions for the formation and effective implementation of state policy in the field of critical infrastructure protection.
The draft law proposes to define the legal and organizational framework for the operation and protection of critical infrastructure. The relevant law will become a component of Ukrainian legislation in the field of national security.
The draft law proposes:
- to create an authorized body in the field of critical infrastructure protection, namely the National Commission for Critical Infrastructure Protection - a central executive body with a special status;
- to carry out an independent external evaluation of the Commission's activities by conducting an annual external audit of the Commission's activities by the Accounting Chamber;
- determine the powers of public authorities in the field of critical infrastructure protection;
- to include in the main functions of the National Guard of Ukraine the protection of critical infrastructure facilities, the list of which is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- to supplement the list of types of compulsory insurance by insuring the risk of financial losses caused by a crisis situation at a critical infrastructure facility.
