"Youth internship in the Verkhovna Rada destroys false stereotypes about the Parliament," Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk

Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk met with interns undergoing internship in the Parliament. "I am impressed by the level of questions and interest in various dimensions of parliamentarism. Beautiful, bright, smart Ukrainian youth who are undergoing internships in the Secretariat and Committees of the Verkhovna Rada," said the Vice Speaker.
Olena Kondratiuk told young people about her education and communication experience, activities and responsibilities as Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. In addition, the Vice Speaker stressed the importance of women's political leadership and the practical implementation of the values ??of equal rights and opportunities for women and men in society. The Vice Speaker also shared her experience of acting as the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada in November 2020.
The interns were also interested in the issues of ratification of the Istanbul Convention in the Parliament, counteraction to sexism and ageism, peculiarities of law-making, relations between the Parliamentary majority and the minority.
In addition, Olena Kondratiuk discussed with interns preparations for the celebrations on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. She also shared her vision of the role, importance and further development of Parliamentarism in Ukraine.
The Deputy Chairperson also invited interns to take part in the solemn sitting of the Verkhovna Rada on the occasion of the Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine.
