Members of the Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations met with representatives of ethnic communities in Mariupol.
The participants of the meeting spoke openly about their problems, about how important they are to be heard, and their rights and guarantees are taken into account and expanded in the Law "On National Minorities in Ukraine".
In Mariupol, MPs got acquainted with the work of the Center for the Development of Startups, visited the Cultural Center of the Federations of Greek Societies.
During the meetings, issues related to ensuring the rights and needs of national minorities and improving the legal framework aimed at regulating ethno-national relations were raised.
Today, May 25, members of the Committee will hold the meeting with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Bulgarian Cultural Center in Melitopol.
From 24 to 31 May, members of the Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations will pay working visits to places of compact residence of national minorities.
MPs will hold meetings with representatives of national minorities, educational institutions, public authorities of Mariupol (Donetsk region), Melitopol (Zaporizhzhya region), Odesa (Odesa region), Chernivtsi (Chernivtsi region), Uzhhorod (Zakarpattia region).
During the visits it is planned to discuss issues related to the development and improvement of the legal framework aimed at regulating ethno-national relations, in particular the draft new version of the Law "On National Minorities in Ukraine".
The result of the working meetings will be the elaboration of the final text of the draft law "On National Minorities in Ukraine", which will be presented approximately on June 4.
