"Digitalization is an important factor that influences and determines the pace of development of the state. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supports the creation of the digital state, at the center of which is a human. The Parliament has already adopted the Law of Ukraine "On the Unified State Demographic Register and documents confirming the citizenship of Ukraine, identity or special status" (No. 4355). As a result, Ukraine became the first country in the world to legalize electronic passports. In addition, the draft law No. 5495 was registered, which accelerates the digitalization of Ukraine and the introduction of the "paperless" regime. In the first reading, the draft law "On Stimulating the Development of the Digital Economy in Ukraine" (No. 4303) was adopted, which opens new opportunities for the development of IT companies and startups," said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
According to him, many bills on digitalization are provided by the Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021. The First Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine stressed that only through coordinated cooperation of three subjects of the legislative initiative - the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will be able to realize the dream of a digital state.
