The working breakfast was attended by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov and Heads of the Parliamentary Factions. This was the first meeting in the busy program of the US Secretary of State's visit to Ukraine.
During the event, the issues of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, national security, counteraction to Russian aggression were discussed. The parties also exchanged views on reforms in Ukraine, in particular, anti-corruption, parliamentary and reform of the Security Service of Ukraine. The issue of implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Management of State-Owned Objects” regarding the appointment of the Chairperson of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz was raised separately.
The participants of the meeting noted that for the successful future of Ukraine one of the priorities should be the rule of law and observance of equality before the law. "In the democratic state, everyone must be equal before the law. Respect for human rights and freedoms is a guarantee for the development of Ukraine," said Dmytro Razumkov, Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
