Almost 40 European integration bills need to be considered by the Parliament of Ukraine. This was announced by the First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk during the sitting of the Commission for Coordination of the Implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
According to him, nine European integration bills are ready for the first reading, eleven for the second reading, and fourteen bills are being drafted by the relevant Committee.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine also reminded that, despite the blocking of work by "legislative spam", the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine continues to consider bills important for European integration at extraordinary sittings.
"Yesterday the draft law 'On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Activation of Science Parks' (No.4236) and the draft law on Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on Introduction of Information and Telecommunication System of Pre-trial Investigation (No. 5246) were adopted in the first reading. In addition, tomorrow at the extraordinary plenary session it is planned to consider in the first reading the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine 'On Tourism' and certain legislative acts on the basic principles of tourism" (No. 4162)," said the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk reminded of the initiative on hold the so-called "Days of the European Union" in the Parliament.
"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will continue to work towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Once we get out of the blocked process related to the land market bills, we will be able to form a weekly plan for consideration of European integration bills together with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Office of the President. Voting for these bills in the Parliament will take place in the so-called 'Days of the European Union'," said the politician.
