Adopted the Law of Ukraine No. 2164 “On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine to Improve Certain Provisions in Connection with the Conduct of a Special Pre-trial Investigation.”
The Law of Ukraine ensures the inevitability of punishment for persons who have committed a criminal offense and in order to avoid criminal liability have left or are in other countries or in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The Law of Ukraine proposes to amend the Criminal Procedure Code, in particular, it is intended to determine two grounds for announcing the search for the suspect:
- if ‘the location of the suspect is unknown’;
- if ‘the suspect evades appearing at the summons of an investigator, prosecutor, investigating judge or court, provided he/she is duly notified of such summons and there are reasonable grounds to believe that he/she has left and/or is in another country or in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
