First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk together with Vice-Marshal of the Seimas of the Republic of Poland Malgorzata Gosiewska and Vice Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Paulus Saudargas visited Donetsk Oblast.
"True friends are known in trouble. This is proved in practice by the representatives of the Lublin Triangle countries, to whom I am very grateful for solidarity with Ukraine and the visit to Donetsk region," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
The First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine together
with European parliamentarians visited the ghost village in Azov and saw the
consequences of the "Russian peace" in Shirokine. It used to be a
popular resort in Eastern Ukraine. Now, as a result of the war, Shirokine has
turned into ruins.
The program of the trip also provided acquaintance with the work of the port of Mariupol, which today is one of the four leading ports of Ukraine. It is the largest and most developed port of the Sea of ??Azov, which is called the "sea gate of Donbas".
Together with the representatives of the countries of the Lublin Triangle, Ruslan Stefanchuk also visited the Gnutovo EEC, got acquainted with the state of its arrangement, functioning and main tasks.
"The aggravation of the security situation in Eastern Ukraine requires coordinated action by the international community, active cooperation between the parliaments of the countries," said the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
Therefore, Ruslan Stefanchuk, Malgorzata Gosiewska and
Paulus Saudargas signed the Statement of the Vice Speakers of the Seimas of the
Republic of Lithuania, the Seimas of the Republic of Poland, and the Verkhovna
Rada of Ukraine condemning the armed escalation against Ukraine by the Russian
Federation.
Thus, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania jointly said "no" to the change of borders, "no" to the aggression of the enemy. At the same time they said: "yes!" to the integrity of Ukraine's borders, "yes" to the country's development, progressive changes, reforms, "yes" to the green light of Ukraine's movement towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Ruslan Stefanchuk also invited Polish and Lithuanian colleagues to join the Crimean Platform.
"This will be an important contribution to consolidating the efforts of the international community to counter Russia's aggressive policy," the politician said.
Finally, the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received the symbolic gift from the parliamentarians of the Lublin Triangle - the NATO flag as a sign that they want to see Ukraine as a full member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
