The Committee on Education, Science and Innovation discussed the state of preparation of preparatory courses with scholarships for entrants from the temporarily occupied territories

This issue was reported by Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Inna Draganchuk. She presented an algorithm of actions for entrants.
Chairperson of the Committee Serhiy Babak noted the importance of this initiative: "I hope that the draft law, which we voted last year and are currently implementing, will become an accessible and effective initiative for children from the East."
The MPs took note of the information.
The members of the Committee considered the draft law on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine on the sources of state guarantees for students (No. 4340).
The draft law proposes to establish that public authorities and local governments, which are in charge of state and municipal educational institutions, provide free hot meals at the expense of the state budget for children of privileged categories - internally displaced persons.
MPs noted the social importance of the bill, but its implementation needs to be finalized due to the need to amend the Budget Code.
Following the review, the Committee decided to send the draft law for revision.
The Committee also decided to recommend rejecting the bill amending some laws of Ukraine on ensuring the language rights of indigenous peoples and national minorities of Ukraine in the field of education (No. 4648) and to send the authors for revision of the draft Law on Amendments to Some Laws of Ukraine to clarify certain provisions on the language of education (No. 4648-1).
Based on the results of the consideration, the Committee recommends to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine” to bring it into line with certain legislative acts (No. 4542).
The members of the Committee approved the recommendations of the hearings on the topic: "Year of accreditation of educational programs under the new procedure: results, problems, prospects", which took place on March 11, 2021.
