The Committee on Education, Science and Innovation recommends adopting as a basis and in general the draft law on expanding opportunities for the transformation of the educational network and protection the participants's of the educational process rights

During the meeting of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, MPs considered the draft law on amending Section X "Transitional and Final Provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "On Complete General Secondary Education" to expand opportunities for transformation of the educational network and protection the participants's of the educational process rights No. 5138 and the alternative bill No. 5138-1.
Presenting the bill, MP Yulia Hryshyna noted that the issues of transformation of the network of sanatorium and special schools are under the constant control of the Committee. According to her, this is a very important and difficult issue for society, so it is necessary to make informed decisions.
According to her, the bill No. 5138 proposes to postpone until 2024 the transformation of sanatorium schools. But, as a result of the discussion, the parliamentarians came to the conclusion that this is a significant term. An alternative draft law proposes to postpone the transformation of sanatorium schools for a year - until July 2022 and obliges the founders to approve in the Ministry of Education and Science draft decisions on the liquidation and reorganization of sanatorium and special schools and training and rehabilitation centers.
Following the discussion, the Committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt as a basis and in general the draft law No. 5138-1 and to sent for revision to the subject of the legislative initiative the draft law No. 5138.
