The Law of Ukraine No. 4667-1 “On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine on Awarding of Scientific Degrees” provides for the regulation of levels of education, legal regulation of certification of applicants for higher education; procedures for awarding scientific degrees and awarding academic titles. The provisions of the Law are aimed at improving the process of attestation of higher education applicants; delimitation and legislative consolidation of powers of the central body of executive power in the field of education and science and other bodies, the sphere of management of which includes institutions of higher education; clarification of the powers of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance; standardization of the procedure for awarding scientific degrees and conferring academic titles.
