During the meeting, the Committee Members considered the draft Law No. 5300 on assistance to insured persons for the period of implementation of restrictive anti-epidemic measures introduced to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and defined as urgent.
The draft law No. 5300 provides assistance to insured persons who are employees of economic entities registered in regions with a "red" level of epidemic danger, at the expense of the state budget in the amount of 8 thousand hryvnias and at the expense of local budgets in the amount specified by the decision of the relevant local government body.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Yulia Svyridenko reminded that at the initiative of the President of Ukraine at the end of 2020 the similar state support was provided to citizens and individuals-enterprises, which was used by more than 480 thousand people by submitting an application through the single public services portal "Diia". "Supporting citizens during the period of increased quarantine is a priority of the state," she said.
The Committee decided to recommend adopting as a basis and in general the draft law No. 5300, taking into account the Committee's proposals.
