Adopted the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Article 9-2 of the Law of Ukraine 'On Medicinal Products' concerning the State Registration of Vaccines or Other Medical Immunobiological Medicine under the obligation”

The Law of Ukraine No. 5247 “On Amendments to Article 9-2 of the Law of Ukraine 'On Medicinal Products' concerning the State Registration of Vaccines or Other Medical Immunobiological Medicine under the obligation” is related to the implementation of international agreements to enable Ukraine to receive vaccines for the specific prevention of the Coronavirus COVID-19.
The Law of Ukraine proposes to release manufacturers from liability for the effects of vaccines and immunobiological medicine for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19, which are registered under the obligation for emergency medical use.
According to the Law, that medical workers are released from liability for possible consequences if the use of vaccines or other immunobiological medicines was carried out in accordance with the approved instructions, and also provides that, in the event of such consequences, the state ensures the implementation of compensation payments.
The Cabinet of Ministers must within two weeks from the date of entry into force of this Law to bring regulations in line with the bill, as well as within a month to develop and implement the procedure for making compensation payments.
