The Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations held the meeting on the topic: "Freedom of movement along the demarcation line: the problem of applying penalties for violating the order of entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine."
During the discussion, the participants focused on the problems faced by citizens crossing the line of demarcation, including due to the introduction of quarantine restrictions. The issues of observance of human rights and freedoms, restriction of freedom of movement and bringing to administrative responsibility of citizens who violate the order of entry and exit to the temporarily occupied territories were raised separately.
Summing up, MP Oleksiy Kuznetsov stressed that laws and bylaws that allow the application of restrictions should define clear criteria and should not give unlimited powers to act at the discretion of persons entrusted with their implementation, to persons who wanted to cross the line of contact. It was also noted that the Committee is always ready to cooperate on this issue, as well as to consider all reasonable proposals that can be used in the work on draft laws.
