First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk during the Conciliation Council of the parliamentary factions and groups asked to support this week the draft Law No. 4201 "On the computation of time in Ukraine'.

Ruslan Stefanchuk reminded about the Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2021 approved on February 2 this year. However, according to him, the draft laws included in this Plan are not always on the agenda of plenary sittings of the Parliament of Ukraine. Therefore, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine requested that the work be adjusted in such a way that all bills envisaged by this Plan were submitted for consideration in a timely manner. He also asked to intensify work on improving the quality of Ukrainian legislation.

According to him, this week the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider the bill "On de-Sovietization of Ukrainian legislation" (Reg. No. 4284), which proposes to recognize as not applicable in Ukraine, almost 1,500 pieces of legislation.

In addition, Ruslan Stefanchuk informed about the activities of the working groups under his leadership.

"The Working Group on the development of draft laws on democracy actively worked on the draft law on the local referendum. I hope that by the end of this week we will be able to work out the text of the bill. We plan to present its main provisions to representatives of local governments. After that, the text of the bill will be posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for public discussion," the politician stressed.

Ruslan Stefanchuk also spoke about the discussion on the draft Law on parliamentary opposition with former European Parliament President Pat Cox and European Parliament Rapporteur on Ukraine Michael Gahler.

The politician informed about the planned meetings of the Working Group on preparation of the draft law on recodification (updating) of the civil legislation of Ukraine and invited colleagues to actively participate in the reform of the sectoral legislation - civil, criminal, administrative.
