At its meeting, the Committee considered a number of alternative bills banning the sale of medicines to children (No. 5122, 5122-1, 5122-2).

The members of the Committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the draft Law "On Amendments to Article 21 of the Law of Ukraine cl'On Medicinal Products' Prohibiting the Sale of Medicinal Products to Children" (No. 5122) as a basis and in general, and to reject the rest.

The main task of the bill is to prevent the uncontrolled consumption of medicines. Related draft laws were also considered No.5123, No. 5123-1, No. 5131). The draft laws propose appropriate amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The Committee recommends to adopt as a basis and in general the draft Law No. 5131 “On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine to Strengthen Liability for Violation of the Requirements of the Legislation of Ukraine on Medicinal Products”. The draft law sets higher fines and stipulates that the State Medical Service, which is authorized by law to monitor the activities of pharmacies, will draw up protocols and consider cases of such violations.

Based on the results of consideration of draft laws No. 4662, 4662-1, it was decided to support the draft Law No. 4662 "On Amendments to Section X 'Final and Transitional Provisions' of the Law of Ukraine 'On Public Procurement' to ensure the possibility of procurement of medicines under managed access contracts" and recommend to adopt it as a basis and in general. The draft law is aimed at improving patients' access to original medicines and innovative medical technologies at the expense of budget funds using the procedures of managed access agreements.
