At its meeting, the Committee on Economic Development considered the draft Law "On the Office of the Business Ombudsman in Ukraine" No. 3607, in respect of which on June 26, 2020 the Committee decided to recommend its adoption as a basis.
The bill proposes to introduce the institute of business ombudsman at the legislative level in Ukraine The draft law defines the legal basis for the establishment and organization of the Business Ombudsman Institution, the directions of its activities, as well as the principles of its relations with enterprises, institutions, organizations, individuals - entrepreneurs and public authorities, local self-government bodies, state collegial bodies, target insurance funds, legal entities belonging to the sphere of management of state authorities or local self-government bodies.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Development Dmytro Kysylevsky said that during the consultations some inconsistencies of this bill with the Constitution of Ukraine were clarified and recommendations were made to revise it so that the draft does not contain any contradictions.
The Committee reconsidered its previous opinion and decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada, based on the results of the first reading, to send Bill No. 3607 to the Main Committee for preparation for the second reading.
The members of the Committee also decided to establish the working group on reforming the legislation in the field of supervisory boards and corporate governance under the leadership of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Development Roksolana Pidlasa.
