The Law of Ukraine No. 3318 “On
Veterinary Medicine and Wellbeing of Animals” determines the legal and
organizational principles for performing activities in the spheres of
ensuring the protection of animals’ health and wellbeing, veterinary
practice, production and circulation of veterinary medicines and side
products of animal origin.
The
law defines the terms, legislation on veterinary medicine and animal
welfare, the scope of the law, the main directions of state policy in
the field of veterinary medicine, public administration bodies in the
field of veterinary medicine, principles of development, approval,
review and application of veterinary measures.
The Law of Ukraine No. 3318: - cancels the necessity to obtain 2 veterinary documents;
- reduces the timeframe for the issuance of veterinary documents from 30 days to 1 day;
- allows the issuance of documents and prescriptions in electronic form;
- introduces termless registration of veterinary medicines;

strengthens liability for violations in the spheres of veterinary
medicine and wellbeing of animals (as a matter of fact, there is no such
liability at present and so no one abides by the established rules).
