The Committee on Digital Transformation recommends adopting a bill on the use of digital passports

At the meeting of the Committee, MPs considered the bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine No. 4355 “On the Unified State Demographic Register and documents confirming the citizenship of Ukraine, identity or special status.”
The purpose of the bill is to enshrine at the level of law the possibility for citizens to use the electronic display of information contained in the citizen's passport in the form of a card, in the passport of the citizen of Ukraine for departure abroad, and also in other documents in which the information on registration number of the account card of the taxpayer and/or about the registered residence is displayed (e-passport and e-passport for travel abroad).
The Committee recommends adopting the draft law as a basis.
At the sitting, the MPs also discussed the bill on postal service No. 4353, as well as alternatives to it No. 4353-1 and No. 4353-2. The purpose of the document is to harmonize Ukrainian legislation in the field of postal services with European legislation. According to the results of the consideration, the deputies supported the adoption of the draft law No. 4353 as a basis, taking into account the remarks and proposals of the Committee.
Also, following committee hearings on integration into the EU Digital Single Market, the Committee approved recommendations for the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine. Among the recommendations are the development and adoption of the necessary European integration laws: on the regulator, cloud services, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure facilities. Also, development of state target programs, implementation and updating of the Roadmap for Ukraine's integration into the EU Digital Single Market, etc.
