The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is ready, within its powers, to join in resolving the crisis caused by the increase in tariffs for the population. This was stated by Chairperson of the Parliament of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov.
“We will do it quickly, within our powers, to provide people with real mechanisms for overcoming the crisis,” he said.
According to the Speaker of the Parliament, “the Government has already heard the proposal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to subsidize people who need it today.”
Dmytro Razumkov stated that the Parliament is ready to consider changes to the legislation, in particular to the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021, if necessary. He stressed that the Verkhovna Rada is waiting for data from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Policy on how much money, for which categories of the population and for what purposes will be needed.
“When we have all the input data, we will be able to agree on a common position with the parliamentary factions and vote for changes in the session hall. The Parliament has the will and understanding of what we should help the Government in this case,” Dmytro Razumkov said.

“We can provide tools, but it is very important that these tools are used properly. Because if you drive nails with a microscope, it will definitely not bring the appropriate result,” he added.
