The Committee on the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and the Disabled recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Status of War Veterans, Safeguards of their Social Security" (re Social Security of Persons who resided in Blockade Leningrad)

Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.3289), the persons, including the minors, who resided in blockade Leningrad in the period of the Great Patriotic War are granted the status of a disabled war veteran.

 

However, the Committee members believe that "rendering the status of a disabled war veteran to the ineligible persons violates the logic of the effective Law and the principle of social equity".
