Dear village, settlement, city mayors, deputies of local councils, employees, workers and veterans of the local self-government system, representatives of scientific and educational institutions, the municipal community - accept the sincerest congratulations on the occasion of the professional holiday - the Day of local self-government!
The current celebration of this holiday is special for all of us. After all, for the first time in thirty years since the restoration of the institution of local self-government in Ukraine, representative bodies of territorial communities at the level of villages, settlements, cities and districts were formed on a new spatial basis, made possible by the decentralization reform, which was regulated by laws and regulations prepared by the Committee.
New powers, additional budget funds, expanded territory are designed to promote the development of our communities, improve the service delivery system, modernize housing and communal services, attract investment in construction, implementation of local and regional socio-economic programs. But the most important resource for this is the people who have had the historic mission to put the practical dimension of decentralization reform into practice.
We are grateful to you for honest and dedicated work, your knowledge, skills and energy dedicated to serving people in your communities, districts and regions. I am convinced that endurance, purposefulness, and a responsible attitude to official duties will allow you to realize all good plans and intentions as much as possible.
