The Committee on Law Enforcement considered in the first reading the draft laws No. 4434 “On the Introduction of Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Restore Liability for Declaring Inaccurate Information and Failure to Submit a Declaration by a Person Authorized to Perform State or Local Self-Government Functions” and No. 4441 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Restoration of Liability for Declaring Inaccurate Information and failure to submit a declaration.”
Chairperson of the Committee on Law Enforcement Denys Monastyrskiy said that representatives of all factions had worked out a compromise on the issue of restoring responsibility for declaring unreliable information.
The norm on imposing a penalty for declaring false information in the form of arrest provoked the greatest discussion.
The Committee decided to support the wording of the draft law prepared by the Committee on the basis of the draft laws No. 4434 and No. №4441, register it and recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to include the draft Law “On the Introduction of Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Restore Liability for Declaring Inaccurate Information and Failure to Submit a Declaration by a Person Authorized to Perform State or Local Self-Government Functions” to the agenda and support as a basis and in general.
