Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management considered the Bill on the implementation of the provisions of certain international agreements and EU directives on the protection of fauna and flora

The members of the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management considered the bill No. 2351 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine (on the implementation of the provisions of certain international agreements and EU directives on the protection of fauna and flora)”, aimed at protecting animals from cruelty.

 

The draft law proposes to amend the Laws of Ukraine: “On Protection of Animals from Cruelty”, “On Fauna”, “On the National Police”, “On the Red Book of Ukraine”, “On Local Self-Government in Ukraine”, the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code , the Forest Code, the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

 

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management Oleh Bondarenko informed that additional remarks had been received on the bill. In particular, the Committee on Law Enforcement insists on the need to divide the bill into two parts: the main one, which amends the laws, and the one that amends the codes.

 

The Сommittee decided to recommend revising the bill with a subsequent submission for a second reading.
