Permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation took part in the 56th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly

Permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) led by the head of the delegation MP Anna Purtova took part in the 56th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly online.
On behalf of the Greek Presidency of the Assembly, the Plenary Session was chaired by Mr. Simeon Kedikoglu, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Hellenic Delegation. Topical issues of regional cooperation, in particular those related to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, were discussed during the General Assembly – “The Role of Parliaments in Combating Pandemic – Economic Aspects”, “The Role of Parliaments in Combating Pandemic – Legal and Political Aspects”, “The Role of Parliaments in Combating Pandemic – Social Aspects”. The Assembly approved reports and recommendations on these issues. The Ukrainian delegation supported the reports and recommendations.
Also, during the meeting, a report on the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly was adopted, new mandates were considered, the Deputy Chairman of the PABSEC, two Deputy Secretaries General of the Assembly were elected, information on the activities of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was heard. In addition, the General Assembly adopted the PABSEC Budget for the 2021 financial year.
At the end of the Plenary Session, the PABSEC Presidency moved to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The next, 57th Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly is scheduled for June 23-25, 2021 in Chisinau.
