During its meeting, the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence decided to propose to the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the draft law No. 0077 “On ratification of the Agreement (in the form of an exchange of notes) between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the extension until August 1, 2021 of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the International Mission of Inquiry of July 28, 2014.” Adoption of the draft Law will ratify the Agreement (in the form of an exchange of notes) between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which will facilitate further investigation with the Dutch side of the causes of the crash of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which occurred in Ukraine on July 17, 2014.
Pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands of July 24, 2014, the Ukrainian side transferred to the Dutch side the authority to investigate the causes and consequences of the crash of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
